Thompson Engineering is looking for a Project Specialist II.  This position is an administrative position that is considered a "specialist" with main duties to include providing project control and administrative support to clients of Thompson Engineering. Position will include other office support functions, as needed.

Job Duties include:

  1. Support "Project Control and Administration" to include assistance in preparation and management of deliverables to clients.
  2.  Assist and manage Contractor Project Control Procedures (Cost and Schedule)
  3.  Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  4.  Assist in the development of total installed cost (TIC) estimates and basis of estimate
  5.  Develop and maintain resource loaded project schedules (master schedules, milestone schedules etc.) using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project with PMs, clients, and contractors
  6.  Prepare and maintain Change Management reports (trend and change registers)
  7.  Progress/Performance Measurement develop and maintain; resource actual progress vs. planned progress reports and graphs, material tracking logs for procurement activity, drawing production progress reporting, contractor submittal review status logs, contractor request for information logs, rework tracking for construction activity, weekly and monthly project progress reports, project status meeting minutes
  8.  Assist Project Management and Project Controls with site visits to assess project progress, document and track identified deficiencies, attend onsite project progress meetings as needed.
  9.  Responsible for Cost Control to include financial/cost reports, cash flow and forecasting reports, and trend and change logs
  10.  Support Project Closeout Plan
  11.  Final Project Data Book

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Support providing information to Document Control Manager
  2.  Support providing information to Project Scheduler
  3.  Support project management as needed
  4.  Miscellaneous office duties as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2.  Excellent Computer Skills 5 years minimum experience with demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project. Familiar with industry standard document review and markup tools such as Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Acrobat
  3.  Familiarity with Primavera P6 Project scheduling and controls software is a plus
  4. Excellent math skill
  5.  Technical writing capability

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to sit for long period of time
  2.  Ability to stoop and bend for filing
  3.  Ability to communicate verbally and written
  4.  Must be able to safely drive a vehicle
  5.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
